Members representing JUKO (Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals) in the working groups referred to in the new collective agreement for universities have been elected.
Chief Negotiator Maija Holma from the Union of Professionals in Natural, Environmental and Forestry Sciences (Loimu) participates in two work groups that are important for employees of Loimu’s member universities: a work group that examines career models and the acquisition of merits as well as a work group that examines the maximum number of teaching hours and new teaching methods. Maija Holma represents both Loimu and Vakava in the groups.
Matters that can be considered important for Loimu that will be discussed in the work groups include the position and salaries of young researchers as well as the acquisition of merits and career development of those in teaching-oriented positions. The definition of in-person teaching should also be re-examined in a manner that takes the digitalisation of teaching into account.
Each work group will also have its own support group. Loimu’s Maija Holma will participate in the support group of the work group examining collective agreements.
