The Union of Professionals in Natural, Environmental and Forestry Sciences Loimu’s Board of Delegates held a combined seminar and spring meeting on 24 May 2019 in Helsinki. The seminar focused on two hot topics from the trade union field: labour market negotiations starting in the autumn and membership acquisition. The Chairman Teemu Hankamäki of YTN (Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff) and Markku Kojo from JUKO (Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals) told the Board of Delegates about the outlook for the autumn negotiation round. In addition, the views of the Akava’s (The Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland) new Chief economist Pasi Sorjonen on the state of the economy were heard. Salla Saarinen raised thoughts about member acquisition with the theme Stronger Loimu, stronger it´s member.
Statutory matters such as the annual report of Loimu and the financial statements for 2018 were on the agenda of the spring meeting after the seminar.
