If you are not yet a member of the unemployment fund, we recommend learning more about the topic now. You can only join the fund if you are currently employed. Starting a summer job is a good time for students to join the fund!
If you are able to meet the employment condition during your studies, your income will be much more secure should you become unemployed after graduation. With the average earnings (around EUR 2,000 per month) from summer jobs in fields represented by Loimu, the earnings-related unemployment allowance amounts to around EUR 500 more than the benefits provided by Kela*.
If you are already a member of the fund, you can check this page to find out what certificates and documents you should keep hold of when your employment relationship ends.
