A professional or supervisor in working life – you are needed in the mentor bank

Do you remember what it felt like to apply for your first job? Recent graduates and those at the beginning of their careers often seek a mentor who is already in working life – someone to talk to and support them, as their own goals for certain roles or career paths may feel distant. Mentoring is a great way to reflect on future career paths, build networks in your field, and create a bridge to working life.

Your expertise and perspective on working life could be invaluable to someone. You don’t need any special skills to be a mentor – just an interest in another person’s way of thinking and situation. Loimu provides training for all mentors at the start and supports them throughout the programme.

You can express your interest in becoming a mentor by updating your information in the OmaLoimu e-service. You will be contacted if your background matches the mentee’s wishes. The next six-month mentoring programme begins in June 2026.
