Positions of trust at Loimu

Elected officials

The ultimate authority in the Union of Professionals in Natural, Environmental and Forestry Sciences Loimu is vested in the Board of Delegates. The members are elected in the Board of Delegates election. The term of office of the current Board of Delegates is 2021–2024.

The Board of Delegates approves, for example, the action plan, Annual Report and budget and adopts the Financial Statements.

The Board of Delegates is elected by vote every four years. The next Board of Delegates election will be held in 2024.

Loimu’s Board of Delegates

The Union of Professionals in Natural, Environmental and Forestry Sciences’ Board of Delegates consist of 30 members and 12 deputy members. The Board of Delegates has the ultimate power to make decisions in Loimu, approve, for example, the action plan, Annual Report and budget and adopt the Financial Statements.

According to section 10 of Loimu’s rules, if the Board of Delegates’ actual member is elected to the Executive Board or their seat otherwise becomes vacant, the first deputy member of the electoral alliance will be elected to fill the seat for the rest of the term. If the Board of Delegates’ deputy member is elected to the Executive Board or their seat otherwise becomes vacant, the candidate who was not selected from the electoral alliance in question in the Delegate election in the order of their comparison figure or, if this is not possible, another candidate determined by the comparison figure, will be elected to fill the seat for the rest of the term. If the Delegate member’s or deputy member’s Executive Board term ends during the Board of Delegates term, the member or deputy member will return to the Board of Delegates as a member or deputy member.

Loimu’s Executive Board

The Executive Board is the executive body on the union. The Board of Delegates elects the Executive Board.

The Executive Board consists of the Chairman of the union, I and II deputy chairmen elected by the Executive Board and 4–9 Board members elected at the regular autumn meeting of Loimu’s Board of Delegates. The term of the Chairman of the Executive Board and Board members is two calendar years. Half of the members are outgoing members annually.

Working Committee

The Working Committee’s tasks include the preparing of the draft decisions for the Executive Board and other tasks authorised by the Executive Board. The Working Committee consists of the chairmen of the Executive Board and Loimu’s CEO.
