A job search may become current at several points in your career. You should develop your own job-seeking skills so that you can manage sudden career changes easily. Loimu’s Career Services provide support and facilitate different stages of your job search.

Checklist for Unemployed Jobseekers

  1. Register as an unemployed jobseeker
    Register at the Työmarkkinatori online service using your online banking credentials. Make sure to register no later than on your first day of unemployment, as unemployment benefits can only be paid from the date of registration onwards.
    Keep your job search valid in accordance with the instructions of the employment services. You may start your job search even before your unemployment begins.
  2. Check if you are entitled to a membership fee reduction
    A full member may be eligible for a reduced membership fee due to unemployment or lay-off if the gross monthly income is below EUR 2,900.

Loimu’s career services support you throughout the job search process in many different ways. Together with our experts, you can develop your job application documents, reflect on your career goals, or prepare for a job interview, for example. Our services help you gain confidence and clarity at the different stages of your job search.

Make use of an AI coach in your job search

Loimu offers AI coaches to support you in job searching, career planning, and wellbeing. These advanced bots are trained according to coaching principles, and the conversations you have with them are designed to help you find your own answers and solutions. With an AI coach, you can for example:

  • refine your CV or LinkedIn profile
  • identify and articulate your skills
  • practise for job interviews
  • plan your next career step
You have access to three AI coaches. The customised AI coaches are provided by our UP partner and can be found in the UP Partners portal

The coaches are available 24/7. You can start a coaching conversation at your own pace, with no need to book an appointment.

Heading towards new opportunities? Take advantage of loimu’s legal services

When it’s time to move on to new opportunities, you can have your new employment contract checked before signing by submitting it to Loimu’s lawyers via the OmaLoimu service.

If you have questions related to the start of an employment relationship, you can seek advice from Loimu’s Legal Advice Line, staffed by lawyers from Loimu’s labour market advocacy team. The Legal Advice Line is available from Tuesday to Thursday, 10:00–12:00.

You should always find out the salary level when applying for a new job. We will help you ask for a salary that corresponds to your skills and experience before you sign the employment contract. On the basis of our own surveys and available statistics information, we can advise our members in salary issues and salary development in different work tasks.
