The time for collective agreement negotiations is approaching

The negotiation round between the trade unions and employers’ associations on collective agreements is about to begin once again. Negotiating objectives have already been thought through and set on both sides. In the private sector, contracts are put on hold in the autumn, while contracts in the public sector only at the beginning of next year.

For the members of Loimu, the actual negotiations concerning collective agreements are mainly carried out by the Collective Bargaining Organisations. The state, municipal and university agreements are negotiated by the Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals JUKO. While in the private sector, agreements are negotiated by the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff YTN.

Loimu also has two collective agreements of its own to negotiate in the forestry sector.

Loimu’s chief negotiators either act as the responsible negotiators in their respective areas or are otherwise involved in the negotiation process.

Loimu’s Board of Directors and Labour Market Committees have both, together with the chief negotiators, contributed to setting the negotiation objectives for their own sectors.

In the Collective Bargaining Organisations, objectives from the unions are collated, after which they are discussed together with other Collective Bargaining Organisations under the Central Organisations in an attempt to identify common viewpoints amongst the employees. So far, no viewpoints have been presented on pay rises.

Loimu provides information on the progress and the status of the negotiations as soon as anything significant happens. Additionally, Loimu and the Collective Bargaining Organisation websites and Twitter are updated with the current negotiation information. The best way to reach Loimu’s chief negotiators is by sending them email, see contact information.
