Danske Bank and Akava celebrate a new cooperation agreement – following five years of cooperation

Danske Bank and Akava have renewed an agreement that provides services offering financial peace of mind to members of Akava affiliates. The agreement continues to include access to housing loan and investment benefits as well as benefits for recent graduates.

Five years of cooperation between Danske Bank, Akava and Akava affiliates continue since we have concluded an agreement together for the next three years. Our cooperation has progressed in stages, starting with benefits for recent graduates in 2017, expanding with housing loan benefit in 2018 and investments services in 2019.

“Since 2016, we have been building financial peace of mind for higher-educated Finns and provided members of Akava affiliates with significant benefits on housing loans, investment and banking services. We have been studying the financial peace of mind of Finns since 2018. It’s interesting to note that during this time, the peace of mind of higher educated Finns has risen to approach that of higher educated citizens in the other Nordic countries,” says Riikka Laine-Tolonen, Head of Personal Customers Finland at Danske Bank.

In a survey measuring financial peace of mind, 38% of higher educated people stated that they had confidence in their finances in 2018. This share has now risen to above 50% and has caught up with the other Nordic countries.

Higher education in Finland provides the highest contribution to financial peace of mind compared to the rest of the population. A survey conducted this year showed that the share of people with a higher education stating that they had confidence in their own finances was 18 basis points higher when compared to the population as a whole.
