Facing unemployment or lay-off? Take advantage of the support offered by Loimu and the Ote Unemployment Fund
As a Loimu member, you can enhance your income security by joining the Ote Unemployment Fund through us. Only members of an unemployment fund may be eligible for earnings-related unemployment benefits during periods of unemployment or temporary layoff.
If you become unemployed
If you become unemployed, register as a jobseeker no later than your first day of unemployment. You can register online through the Job Market Finland (Työmarkkinatori) website. After approximately two weeks of unemployment, you can submit your first application for earnings-related unemployment allowance through the Ote Unemployment Fund’s online service.
If you are unemployed, you may apply for a discount on your Loimu membership fee. You can find the discount application form in OmaLoimu, in the section for Membership Fees. You can also take advantage of Loimu’s Career and Job search services to support your job search. Once you find a new job, remember to update your employment information so that you continue to receive communications relevant to your workplace and so that any membership fee discount can be ended at the appropriate time. We do not receive employment information from other sources. You can update your employment details in OmaLoimu, under My Information.
